So, I’m suddenly a bit sad writing this - but - I’ve made a new blog. And it’s all neatly attached to a portfolio website. And this new blog will let me publish big long photo journals like I’ve always wanted. It’s not like this blog has even been around for very long …but to my faithful 5(?) 6(?) readers, here’s the new spot:

I promise it’s one click to get to my blog but if that’s too much:

I think I’ll continue announcing a new post on FB …but I’m always a little hesitant. Is it super annoying? Is it cluttering up your News Feed? All the men nod their heads.
*PS - I took this photo (Pentax SP100, drugstore film) picking sour cherries with Claire and Sophia.

My wonderful brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their kids. When we moved in a couple weeks ago, they joined us in Edmonton and were a great help to us. Beyond the labour, it was so nice to have their company. And I love seeing my nephews and nieces. I also took some quick family photos! Yeah know, I just love taking photos. I know a lot of people do. It doesn’t mean much these days to say you’re a photographer. I always feel hesitant even saying so. I’ve maybe said that I’m a photographer twice. It’s more like - “oh..yeah..I enjoy photography”. It’s someone’s body of work that counts. It’s all I care about. Not years in the business or if you have a studio with a billboard in front or how much gear you have. I’m still so young at this. I can see the quality of my work change quickly. There are photos that I took a year ago (six months ago?) that I would do differently now. I’m glad that I’m changing but it makes it a little difficult when people want to see your work - like - “here’s my site, but only go back three pages, thanks”.
Anyway. A couple more photos below…
Lydia Elizabeth Grey. Also known as: Little Lydia, Lyds, and Lydie-Grey. I’m sure there’s more. The Cutie-est? Probably. It was her second birthday last week and she was having the time of her second-birthday life. Kathleen made another beautifully crafted birthday cake - a giant Elmo - but I didn’t have my camera out at the time. More birthday below…
